I downloaded from Amazon this book titled USING YOUR IPAD prior to using my IPad and was most pleased at the organized methodical way it introduced me to my mew techie gadget. This is a good book in that it walks you thru each step with pages of detailed 'how to's' while holding the IPAD in your hand. A must for the beginner.Product details

A Beginner Guide to Using Your iPad as a Business Productivity Tool FT Press Delivers Shorts eBook Dave Caolo Reviews
It was not as in depth as I had hoped. It would work to get you started but I had a lot of unanswered questions.
This Is a really nice easy reading book. The author of the book provides some quick easy tips as well as reference to apps for the iPad. I continually use this as a reference when I am frustrated and can't seem to get it work properly.
I learned a lot about the iPad i did not know and i use it every day. Very helpful, thanks
I just got this book and deleted it.
The book has no table of contents and no index!
It is not like this is a novel--this is basically a manual. How are you supposed to know what is in it and where to find information you want? Any decent word processor would have created a table of contents and index. This is just laziness on the part of the author/publisher.
Scanning through, it just seems to repeat stuff you find in the Ipad manual and the instructions for software like Keypoint.
The book was free but it wastes your time so forget it until the publisher fixes it.
I don't have an iPad yet. I've been debating whether I need one or not. I don't play games other than a word game. And since that helps my vocabulary and I'm a writer, I can't really classify that as a game. Nor do I watch lots of videos --- certainly none I can't watch on my computers or attach to my big screen television. Still, I thought it might be helpful in a number of ways. I read this short book to help me decide.
The author pretty much covers everything. He talks directly to the business user. There's nothing here for the casual user. Seems Apple left an awful lot off the iPad and you'll likely have to invest in a number of third party apps. Fortunately, they're quite cheap and look useful and feature rich.
You can do spreadsheets on the iPad and, important to me, you can edit Word documents. Of course, important to me is that you can read magazines and newspapers, something the doesn't do to the extent it's done on the iPad. Moreover, you can easily read PDF files. Also important to me.
The author goes through everything step by step. He shows you how to set up your email accounts, how to use the spreadsheet and all the other major programs and features of the iPad.
One feature that impressed me was using the iPad as a portfolio. The author writes, "Most business owners wouldn't think of using a laptop as a mobile portfolio, but the iPad is perfect. Just hand it off to an editor, prospective client, gallery owner, and so on and let them swipe through."
And, if your iPad misbehaves (and it will) the author says, "Occasionally your iPad or an app misbehaves and needs to be reset. To perform a soft reset on the iPad, simply hold the Power button and the Home button down simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. At that point, let go and allow your iPad to reboot."
Now, if you already have an iPad and really don't yet know what all you can do with it as far as your business is concerned, you should really invest in this book. It really does hold you by the hand and walk you through just about everything. And certainly if you're like me --- not sure if you need one or not --- this book will help you decide.
Highly recommended.

An ok book but I was taken aback that it was written in the UK. Take into consideration that this is mainly for the iPad2.
Already outdated and most of the information is easily accessible. Too basic for anyone with some knowledge of technology and probably intimidating to a true beginner.
Was a little unsettled to realize the publisher was Pearson Education.
